Lark by the fire

Lark with ruffed grouse

“Lark” is the first Drahthaar I was able to test.  She has taught me a lot about what a Drahthaar can do.  She is the go to dog at the kennel for tough hunting missions since she knows how to complement me and what is expected.  All hunting appeals to Lark, but above all, Lark loves the water and a good long search-tracking mission to recover waterfowl.  Her thick coat and relatively stocky build make her particularly suited to braving the cold here in Fairbanks.  She is also a great toe warmer and face licker.  Lark mothered our A and C litters and is now retired from breeding due to age.  Lark is still healthy and happy but now lives in Virginia with a hunter.
